Reinvention

This is a more personal story about me and my career. It is about intention as opposed to reaction.

My career decisions have generally been reactions to perceived opportunities. By perceived I mean those of which I was aware.

Curiously, as a graduate from college with a degree in Radio, TV, Film I did not want to go to NYC or LA to pursue a career. I learned of a civil service exam for air traffic controllers, took the "aptitude" test and began a 4 year career as an air traffic controller.

This pattern of reacting to perceived opportunities as opposed to executing on intention has been repeated many times

At this point in my life I am intending to become (again) a software developer. I am intentionally reinventing myself.

Interestingly, I don't think success in the reinvention is about the result. Its what happens in the process of change that will define success.
